This book scores on two important levels as a take-along travel book. First it is short and pithy, so no tedious chapters of endless detail to wade through before you get to the hard stuff. It takes you straight into your surroundings. Second, it is written in a very friendly, Car Hire Tenerife conversational style. This makes it very accessible, like having a knowing friend alongside you pointing out the features as you stroll along. You can read this on the plane going over, then refer to the relevant pages when you're 'going native'. It's also an easy read on your tour coach or in the pavement cafe as you sip your cafe con leche. If you can't manage a personal Tour Guide this is a very affordable alternative. The next edition Car Hire Tenerife could manage a few more pictures. Why not submit yours. The author might be grateful. And you might become famous.
This is the fourth book in our "Going Native" series. The first was "Going Native in Murcia", Car Hire Tenerife the second was "Going Native in Catalonia" and the third was "Going Native in Alicante". We're keen to hear from other expats living in Spain keen to write the "Going Native" guide for their home region. So be sure to get in touch!

Panasonic Makes Blu-ray Portable
ปฏิกิริยา:

You’ve jumped on the Blu-ray bandwagon, but can’t seem to let go of those standard-def discs. A good reason might be the other DVD players in your house—or the car. Now Panasonic says you can hit the highway with the DMP-B15.
This portable unit provides anywhere access to the magic you are slowing getting addicted to at home. The 8.9-inch unit even takes it one step further, adding VIERA CAST Internet accessibility and BD Live functionality. In case you aren’t familiar with VIERA CAST, this application should give you additional access to Amazon Video-on-Demand, as well as YouTube, Google Picasa, Bloomberg, and other web content. Unless you’ve got web access in the car, it might not do you much good, but it’s a nice in-house bonus.
Other features include PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus processing technology, an SD card slot, and a 3-hour rechargeable battery.
Better start saving; it will be out in May and Panasonic told us it’s going to cost in the $800 range. Read more!

high-tech mobile plunge

Telecom chief executive Paul Reynolds told a press conference in observation lounge on the Sky Tower management were "on top of the world" announcement on $ 218 million upgrading the company's new 3G mobile phone network.

Technological change saw Telecom cut its earnings forecast of up to 8 per cent.
Despite this, long-term investors may be pleased that Telecom is stepping up to the challenge of beating Vodafone than to adopt inferior technology.

The NZX fell by 1.5 per cent yesterday but Telecom fell by 5.4 per cent, or 15c, to $ 2.44, on news of the plan and the capital program,.
The full 3G network follows the $ 391 million to $ 2 billion capital budget expenditure for two years.
Financial analysts that develop full Transfer Telecom 3G network covering 97 per cent of the country by June of next year - upgrading to the earlier proposal for a poor man version using GSM technology - made sense.
Top telecommunications analyst Guy Forsyth Hallwright acknowledge that any thing to ease the concerns about the short-term returns for the existing stocks in midst of major upheavals on the scale and capital expenditure.
"I'm slightly surprised at the amount of additional cost."
The upgrade was necessary if Telecom were to challenge rival multinational Vodafone, coming on mobile and trying to put some of its fixed line revenue.
Vodafone - which has 021 service 53 per cent of the mobile market compared with 47 per cent for Telecom - is the 3G service market for five years.
Reynolds said the upgrade of WCDMA network developed by Alcatel Lucent has had to offer fast speed internet downloads and "mobile network is New Zealand's best". But said Vodafone NZ chief executive Russell Stanners Telecom was using hyperbole to describe the catch "up" on what was already available.
"The statement of gross exaggeration. If the world is the best network copy of our existing one there.
"The program was started in November, [but] slipped eight months. They had the technology to change and the manner of notification is papering over major miss," he said. Stanners said Telecom now, $ 33 million "impairment" charge as a result of dropping the GSM technology. Telecom confirmed the charge $ 33 million - for GSM technology installed over the past 15 months. Read more!

The iPhone Book whit 3g mobile phones
ปฏิกิริยา:
The first edition of "The iPhone Book" was chosen by Amazon's editors as their Computer/Technology Book of the Year. This new version of the book, totally updated and expanded for the 3G iPhone, was chosen by Amazon as one of their "Top 10 Must-Have Books" in their annual list of the most "gift-worthy" books of the holiday season. Low Price : 3g Mobile Phones
Here's why this book has become such a hit with iPhone users around the world: it's not a โ€Tell-me-all-about-itโ€ book, which has in-depth discussions on everyยญthing from wireless network protocols to advanced compression codes. Instead it's a โ€show-me-how-to-do-itโ€ book, that skips all the confusing techno-jargon and just tells you, in plain simple English, exactly how to use the iPhone features you want to use most.
The bookโ€s layout is brilliant, with each page covering just one single topic, so finding the information you need is quick and easy, with a large full-color photo on each page so you can see exactly how it works.
In this book, you'll learn:
โ€ข How to set up and manage your email the right way from the start
โ€ข How to take advantage of the iPhone's Web features (including important tips that help you avoid frustration, and get you where you want to go fast!)
โ€ข How to download and install applications from Apple's online App Store
โ€ข The key trouble-shooting tips you've got to know
โ€ข How to get your favorite photos onto your iPhone, tips for using its built-in camera, and how to make the most of the iPhone's surprisingly powerful photo features
โ€ข The tips you've got to know to use your iPhone's built-in iPod features, including watching videos, podcasts, TV shows and movies (you're going to amazed at some of the cool things you can do)
โ€ข How to use the iPhone's built-in applications to organize your life (you'll learn things in this chapter you didn't know the iPhone could do!)
โ€ข The top 20 tips for the iPhone's phone feature that will make you fall in love with it (you'll never want to use any other phone again)
โ€ข Plus so much more, including a special bonus chapter called "iPhone Killer Tips" where you'll learn those hidden secrets that you'll be passing on to your iPhone friends (and they will be amazed!).
The iPhone Book is from Scott Kelby, the award-winning author of the smash bestยญseller, The iPod Book, who teams up once again with gadget guru, and iPhone authority, Terry White to put together a book that is an awful lot like the iPhone itselfโ€”simple to use and fun to learn.
In this major update to the book, Scott and Terry added even more tips, more tricks, and made it even easier by focusing on justย the most useยญful and most requested features (without all the techno-babble) so you can start really using your iPhone today!
BONUS VIDEO: The authors put together a special in-depth video just for readers of the book where they not only share their favorite iPhone accessories, but they share even more of those hidden little time-saving tips that can make all the difference in the world.
If you've been waiting for a book that focuses on just the most important, most useful, and most fun stuff about your iPhoneโ€”youโ€ve found it. Read more!

Spotlight customer reviews 3g mobile phones:
Customer Rating:
Summary: Perfect
Comment: Most iPhone 3g cases are either too expensive, or just gross looking. I tried a clear one and the dmna thing busted the second day I had it on. I never dropped my phone or hit it at all, just poor construction. I had a silicon case too, but it stains easily and collects lint and animal hair. This case mimics the natural look of the phone with a black backing and chrome trim on the front. The ENTIRE front is open, no silly cut-outs or weird holes. It is simple and constructed perfectly (it snaps together along the entire edge, not just 4 small clip points.) It is worth it.

Summary: Great Product
Comment: Built well, looks good and works like a charm. Easy to install and very high quality.

Summary: Great Case
Comment: I have had a few different cases for my iphone 3g, but I like this one the best. My major complaint with other thin cases that fit the phone well was that they had no grip on the back of the phone. The phone was "slippery" with other cases. This case is the best of both world: it is a thin good looking case, and at the same time, it has a ribberized back that allows for grip. Great case. Read more!

Nokia : Not Smart Enough This Time
ปฏิกิริยา:
In most of the world, Nokia (NOK) is synonymous with mobile phones. Whether it's building cheap handsets for emerging markets or selling sophisticated smartphones in Europe, Nokia is a dominant player, with more than 36% of global volume, according to market analyst Gartner Group (IT). Yet in the U.S., the Finnish giant is an also-ran.

"We are the incumbent in the world at large," says Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo. "In the U.S., we are the underdog." Yet despite the challenges of a market chock-full of interesting smartphones from the likes of Apple (AAPL), Palm (PALM), and Research In Motion (RIMM), Nokia, which has made several previous efforts to be a top-tier handset supplier in the U.S., is making one more try to expand its toehold in the market by bringing in some high-end products. "The only possibility," says Kallasvuo, "is to push something that is good, strong, and appealing enough."
Judging from its initial efforts, Nokia should be prepared for an uphill slog. Until recently the company was represented at major U.S. carriers by only a smattering of middling phones, all but indistinguishable in the sea of Motorolas (MOT), Samsungs, and LGs that could be had for $50, or even free with a service contract.
Together with AT&T (T), Nokia has launched a flagship U.S. smartphone, the E71x, at the attractive price of $100 with a two-year contract. For a phone with a slightly cramped but usable QWERTY keyboard, the E71x is small and thin—just a tad bigger than a BlackBerry Pearl. It's built on the Symbian operating system, which is the same basic software used for a broad range of high-end Nokia phones available in Europe and Asia.
The E71x is a perfectly good product, with all the features a smartphone user has come to expect: 3G and Wi-Fi networking for fast data; good e-mail, including support for corporate systems using Microsoft Exchange; a decent Web browser based on the same WebKit software used by the iPhone; solid music and video players; and a 3.2-megapixel video-capable camera.
The problem is that it will be difficult to make a dent in such a crowded field with a product that lacks truly distinctive features. Making matters worse, the E71x comes up short in downloadable software applications, which have played at least as big a role in the iPhone's success as any feature of the device itself. Nokia is gathering the thousands of apps available for its phones into its Ovi store, but AT&T is not making the store accessible to E71x users "at this time," a company spokesman says without elaborating. That leaves customers with the lame offerings of AT&T's MEdia Mall—mostly ringtones, wallpaper, and a few games.
Things look even worse for Nokia's other high-end offerings. The N97 is a would-be iPhone challenger with a big 3.5-inch touchscreen. So far, at least, no U.S. carrier offers it. The N97 is available in Britain free of charge from Vodafone (VOD) with a two-year contract, but is being sold unlocked in the U.S. for an eye-popping $700. And Nokia has just introduced the E75, similar to the E71 but with a bigger slide-out keyboard. It, too, has no carrier support, and Nokia is unlikely to sell many at $440.
Despite Nokia's dominance in the GSM technology used by most wireless carriers, the Finnish company historically has been weak in CDMA, the technology used by Verizon Wireless and Sprint. Nokia has only three low-end handsets at Verizon and none at Sprint. "We are investing in CDMA," says Kallasvuo. "It is our ambition to come out with a smartphone in CDMA." For now, however, more than half of the U.S. market is off-limits to Nokia's top-of-the-line products.
For all of these reasons, Nokia's assault on the U.S. market is likely to be ineffectual. And that's a shame for consumers, because the company makes some of the world's most interesting, not to mention popular, handsets.

Renouveler Mon Portable Orange

PM promises alternative to guarantee fair crop prices for farmers.
ปฏิกิริยา:
Other Content : The Prime Minister confirms that the government will take a new approach to guarantee fair crop prices for farmers. The current mortgage scheme will be replaced as it has benefited only 20 per cent of the farmers.
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said, during his weekly TV program on NBT, that the idea of price guarantee scheme for agricultural products is a sound alternative to the existing mortgage scheme.
Last season's mortgaged corn, tapioca and rice from the previous harvest is expected to cost the government 35 billion baht of loss. He revealed that only 20 per cent of farmers benefit from the existing mortgage practice and promised a new alternative from which all farmers will benefit.
Regarding the off-season rice mortgage scheme, Commerce Minister Pornthiwa Nakasai revealed it will begin in 47 provinces this week. Following teh rice policy committee's approval to extend the rice quota to two million tons, Pornthiwa assured that the quota will be distributed fairly.
